Im always looking for ways to increase shot opportunities and in seeing deer so with the seeking phase of the rut taking place in my area I created a social networking site for the local deer to use. A “Facebook” (or in this case Facebranch) to get them to stop in a specific spot for viewing and shot opportunities. I created this licking branch last weekend and these are the results from the first week. I will continue to monitor and when the older bucks get around to seeking and rutting I will hopefully be on one of the stands where I have created a licking branch with mock scrape. I don’t claim this draws deer in from great distances or will bring deer to an area they don’t normally visit. You need to find an area the deer are cruising through and give them a reason to stop and come to where you want them.
